I've spent fourteen years on IT modernisation and system integration — the work that starts with a business problem and ends in a deploy pipeline. Today I'm a software engineer at OTTO in Hamburg, migrating infrastructure codebases to AWS CDK and building the patterns other teams reuse.
Before that: Azure and Active Directory at Guidepoint, Teams Direct Routing over an OpenSIPS SBC, and four years at count7 in London installing softswitches and writing the CRM and billing behind them. I lead backend work, I write the automation, and I document it so it survives me.
Trained as a mechatronics systems engineer at Rhine-Waal, with an aerospace foundation at Queen Mary. Available for senior and staff roles, and for focused consulting on cloud infrastructure and VoIP platforms.
Career History & Leadership Experience
- Leading migration of existing infrastructure codebases to AWS CDK — scalability, security and automation as defaults, not afterthoughts.
- Designing infrastructure patterns for microservices alongside DevOps, architects and application teams.
- Maintaining IaC frameworks with parameterised stacks across multiple environments.
- Wiring CDK into GitLab CI/CD for automated deployment and testing, and releasing shared libraries the wider team builds on.
